Falastinvision 2025

Join us for a FalastinVision watchparty - the genocide-free alternative to Eurovision!

While Eurovision continues to welcome and promote Israel, whitewashing its ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, @falastinvision takes a clear stance. This is a song contest for those who refuse to normalize genocide and who believe music should not provide a platform for states committing war crimes.

Come celebrate music from artists and nations who stand for justice, peace, and human dignity. This is more than entertainment - it's an act of solidarity with Palestine and all oppressed peoples.

At Kirjakahvila (Vanha Suurtori 3) // On May 17th // From 21:00 to 01:00, doors open at 20:00 // Free entry

Free Palestine!

Tervetuloa FalastinVision-katselujuhliin - kansanmurhasta vapaa vaihtoehto Euroviisuille!

Kirjakahvilassa (Vanha Suurtori 3) // 17. toukokuuta // Klo 21:00-01:00, ovet auki klo 20:00 // Vapaa pääsy

Nakba Day Film Screening- Arna's Children

On the Nakba Day, May 15th 7 pm we screen the documentary "Arna’s Children" by Juliano Mer Khamis. Free entry.

[2003 | 84 min | Arabic and Hebrew with English subtitles]

SYNOPSIS:

Arna Mer Khamis was a legendary Israeli activist against the occupation. Born Jewish, she married a Palestinian and spent her life campaigning for human rights. In the Jenin refugee camp, Arna opened a theatre where, with her son Juliano, she taught children to express themselves through art. When Arna died of cancer in 1995, the theater ultimately did not survive. Five years later, Juliano, one of the region's leading actors, returns to discover what happened to "Arna's Children." Shifting in time, his film juxtaposes the young boys with the militants and martyrs they become, exposing the horror of young lives trapped by the circumstances of Israeli occupation.

Before the screening, join us for a hangout and solidarity crafting, including drawing, nail art, face paint and letter writing, starting at 5 pm on the Brinkkala yard (Vanha Suurtori 3).

Organised by Turku with Palestine in collaboration with Kirjakahvila.
